Online listings for medical professionals saw massive updates in the past three years. Telehealth and online appointment booking made commonplace due to the pandemic. While the need for these services has calmed since their peak, there are certain services that are now expected by modern users.
One feature that all listings are expected to contain is the ability to book online. It is so ubiquitous in fact that Google is now using these online booking options as a tool to measure estimated booking times. For some urgent cares and other medical offices, Google will display a guess as to how long it would take to get an appointment at that facility. This shows both in the local pack and in the specific local listing.
This new type of justification that highlights how quickly you can get an appointment draws dating from booking software integrated within Google Business Profiles. This fact makes such integrations even more valuable as users with a query asking for same day appointments will see these justifications put at the highest point of their search results. Listings where Google cannot provide an estimate will be buried beneath those where it can, regardless of how quickly a business may actually be able to provide its service.
