In late April 2025, numerous businesses observed that their Google Business Profile (GBP) posts vanished from local panels in Google Search and Maps. This unexpected disappearance affected a wide range of industries and regions, causing concern among business owners who rely on these posts for customer engagement and local SEO.

Reports indicated that while posts remained visible in the GBP dashboard as “Published,” they were not appearing publicly. This issue was consistent across various devices and platforms, including desktop and mobile versions of Google Search and Maps.

The problem emerged around April 21, 2025, and persisted for several days. During this period, businesses could still create and publish posts, but these updates were not visible to the public. By April 25, many users reported that their posts had reappeared on their profiles, suggesting that Google had resolved the issue.

What’s the impact?

The temporary removal of GBP posts disrupted the way businesses communicate with potential customers. Posts are a vital tool for sharing timely information, promotions, and updates directly on Google Search and Maps. Their absence potentially led to decreased customer engagement and visibility during the affected period.

What can you do?

  • Monitor Your GBP: Regularly check your business profile to ensure all information, including posts, is displayed correctly.
  • Document Issues: If discrepancies occur, take screenshots and note the times to assist in troubleshooting and reporting.

While the issue appears to have been resolved, it’s a reminder of the importance of monitoring your online presence and being prepared to adapt to unexpected changes in digital platform.
