Voici ses opinions les plus controvers\u00e9es. <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h2>Le \u00ab\u202fProph\u00e8te Num\u00e9rique \u00bb \u00e9tait intentionnellement provocateur<\/h2>\n<p>Designer de m\u00e9tier, Shingy a quitt\u00e9 son Australie natale pour se construire une carri\u00e8re m\u00e9langeant le design et la technologie en Europe alors que la bulle Internet commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 s\u2019essouffler.  Il rejoint AOL en tant que Directeur des m\u00e9dias et du marketing pour plusieurs pays europ\u00e9ens, mais peu de temps apr\u00e8s, il d\u00e9couvre sa v\u00e9ritable vocation\u202f: s\u2019exprimer sur le th\u00e8me du marketing en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral (pas seulement ce qui se rapporte aux activit\u00e9s d\u2019AOL) dans des \u00e9missions t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9es, avec des publications sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es et lors des \u00e9v\u00e8nements les plus importants du monde num\u00e9rique. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57096\" src=\"\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/shingy.jpg\" alt=\"Jenna Watson, Dan Temby, David Shing, et Nasser Sahlool\" width=\"612\" height=\"333\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>Les prises de parole publiques sont devenues l\u2019activit\u00e9 principale de Shingy, AOL recevant de l\u2019exposition au passage, mais il n\u2019\u00e9tait pas int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par l\u2019id\u00e9e de devenir un \u00ab\u202f\u00e9vang\u00e9liste\u202f\u00bb, comme les experts marketing de Google ou IBM aimaient se surnommer. \u00c0 la place, il a pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 jouer les trouble-f\u00eate et s\u2019autoproclamer le \u00ab\u202fProph\u00e8te du Num\u00e9rique\u202f\u00bb. Et ce ne serait certainement pas la derni\u00e8re fois qu\u2019il ferait parler de lui dans le secteur\u2026  <\/p>\n<p>En 2011, Shingy a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re audacieuse la fin des applications. Avec du recul, il explique qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque iOS avait besoin d\u2019une s\u00e9rieuse refonte\u202f: la plateforme \u00e9tait victime de la prolif\u00e9ration d\u2019applications sans imagination qui faisaient p\u00e2le comparaison avec le web mobile. Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, lors d\u2019une apparition dans l\u2019\u00e9mission The Cycle, talk-show politique et d\u2019actualit\u00e9s diffus\u00e9e \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision nord-am\u00e9ricaine, il pr\u00e9dit que la prochaine \u00e9volution du num\u00e9rique sera le \u00ab\u202fdefriend and unfollow\u202f\u00bb (supprimer de sa liste d\u2019amis et arr\u00eater de suivre sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux). Ses commentaires ont bri\u00e8vement fait davantage parler d\u2019eux que les Jeux Olympiques d\u2019Hiver de 2014, s\u2019attirant les foudres de milliers de trolls en ligne. Mais Shingy dit que l\u2019exp\u00e9rience l\u2019a seulement rendu plus fort.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Les marques les plus empathiques ont le mieux n\u00e9goci\u00e9 leur virage lors de la pand\u00e9mie<\/h2>\n<p>Les annonceurs se sont retrouv\u00e9s enlis\u00e9s alors que la pand\u00e9mie s\u2019installait durablement. On a vu trop d\u2019annonces \u00e0 l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re sombre nous conter \u00e0 nouveau les origines des entreprises ou bien des tentatives sans substance pour humaniser les marques. Ce dernier point exposait de mani\u00e8re flagrante l\u2019inaptitude des marques \u00e0 choisir les bonnes plateformes pour interagir avec leur audience. <\/p>\n<p>Shingy est persuad\u00e9 que les marques qui ont g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 les meilleures performances sont celles qui n\u2019ont rien dit. Il fait par exemple l\u2019\u00e9loge de Cadbury, marque britannique sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans la confiserie, dont la r\u00e9surrection de sa barre chocolat\u00e9e Twirl \u00e0 la saveur d\u2019orange est l\u2019exemple parfait d\u2019une marque qui a su \u00e9couter ses clients, ou bien de Ben &#038; Jerry\u2019s qui livrait ses glaces par drones au pic de la pand\u00e9mie. <\/p>\n<p>KFC a innov\u00e9 pendant la pand\u00e9mie en lan\u00e7ant aux gens le d\u00e9fi de recr\u00e9er son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre m\u00e9lange de fines herbes et d\u2019\u00e9pices, avant de se moquer des pires participations. Mais le Prix Shingy de la Meilleure Annonce de la Pand\u00e9mie revient \u00e0 Burger King UK qui a encourag\u00e9 ses clients \u00e0 commander chez McDonald\u2019s (et d\u2019autres chaines de restauration) afin de soutenir les milliers d\u2019employ\u00e9s de l\u2019industrie dont l\u2019emploi \u00e9tait en danger. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57078\" src=\"\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/bk-tweet.jpg\" alt=\"Un tweet de Burger King UK qui encourage ses clients \u00e0 soutenir les autres chaines de restauration rapide.\" width=\"612\" height=\"804\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Les d\u00e9cideurs marketing ne sont pas pr\u00eats pour la fin des cookies tiers<\/h2>\n<p>Plusieurs directeurs marketing ont r\u00e9cemment confi\u00e9 \u00e0 Shingy que la pand\u00e9mie les avait oblig\u00e9s \u00e0 revoir leurs priorit\u00e9s, en se concentrant sur les efforts pour rassurer et r\u00e9conforter leurs clients plut\u00f4t que de d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux produits. Mais cette nostalgie r\u00e9confortante a fait son bout de chemin dans le rapport d\u2019IAB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iab.com\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IAB_Ipsos_State_Of_Data_2021-03.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of Data 2021 (\u00c9tat des Lieux de la Donn\u00e9e 2021)<\/a> selon lequel une grande majorit\u00e9 de d\u00e9cideurs marketing NE pensent PAS que les revenus de leur entreprise (76%) ni les ressources\/\u00e9quit\u00e9 (69%) souffriront de la suppression des cookies tiers. La r\u00e9action de Shingy : \u00ab\u202favez-vous perdu la t\u00eate ?!\u202f\u00bb <\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 cette apparente myopie au niveau d\u00e9cisionnel, nous assistons au d\u00e9but d\u2019un effort historique pour s\u2019approprier des donn\u00e9es internes ainsi qu\u2019un rejet des monnaies sociales. Les marques les plus intelligentes seront capables d\u2019attirer les gens sur leurs propres plateformes, loin des plateformes tierces. <\/p>\n<p>Alors que le <a href=\"\/fr-ca\/blog\/le-geste-fort-de-google-contre-les-cookies-et-les-annonces-personnalisees\/\">futur sans cookies prend forme<\/a>, cela devient de plus en plus inenvisageable que des entreprises valant des milliards de dollars envoient leurs clients vers des plateformes qui ne leur appartiennent pas. Rationnaliser ses donn\u00e9es et les utiliser pour rapidement amplifier des id\u00e9es. Si cela fonctionne, on peut les utiliser pour d\u00e9marrer de nouvelles initiatives. Si cela \u00e9choue, on arr\u00eate tout et on passe \u00e0 autre chose. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57104\" src=\"\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/drone.jpg\" alt=\"Drone portant un colis au-dessus d\u2019une ville\" width=\"612\" height=\"344\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>Il mentionne Amazon comme \u00e9tant l\u2019exemple parfait d\u2019une entreprise qui est le fruit de d\u00e9cisions bas\u00e9es sur les donn\u00e9es. Quand le g\u00e9ant du commerce en ligne a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 ses premiers plans de livraison par drone, des dizaines de concurrents se sont empress\u00e9s de les copier. Mais au moment o\u00f9 ses rivaux disposaient enfin d\u2019une flotte de drones pr\u00eats au d\u00e9collage, Amazon \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 pass\u00e9 \u00e0 autre chose apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9cout\u00e9 ses donn\u00e9es\u202f: l\u2019impression de livres \u00e0 la demande au point d\u2019achat. <\/p>\n<p>Les tests et les techniques de d\u00e9multiplication de la croissance (\u00ab\u202fgrowth hacking\u202f\u00bb) ont beau ne pas \u00eatre attrayants, ils constituent une partie critique du processus d\u2019analyse des donn\u00e9es pour en tirer des conclusions puis des plans d\u2019action. Apr\u00e8s tout, si les donn\u00e9es sur les consommateurs disent aux marques <em>quoi<\/em> faire, elles ne leur expliquent pas <em>comment<\/em> le faire. Le <em>comment<\/em> est d\u00e9sormais la fondation du sp\u00e9cialiste du marketing moderne, et plus ce r\u00f4le est proche des donn\u00e9es, plus les conclusions seront bonnes. <\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Le grand retour des QR codes est loin d\u2019\u00eatre fini<\/h2>\n<p>\u00c9tant quelqu\u2019un dont la carte de visite arborait jadis un QR code <em>et<\/em> une puce NFC, Shingy sait de quoi il parle quand il affirme que les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s occidentales ont des ann\u00e9es de retard sur le reste du monde en mati\u00e8re de technologies sans contact. Mais il est aussi persuad\u00e9 du pouvoir durable du QR code qui s\u2019est vu donn\u00e9 un second souffle durant la pand\u00e9mie. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Ce n\u2019est pas le code qui importe; c\u2019est l\u2019exp\u00e9rience apr\u00e8s le scan.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Selon Shingy, le QR code moderne un chef d\u2019\u0153uvre non seulement parce qu\u2019il fait le lien entre les activit\u00e9s en ligne et les activit\u00e9s d\u00e9connect\u00e9es mais aussi parce qu\u2019il est facile \u00e0 reprogrammer. Si les taux de conversion de votre campagne de courriels facilit\u00e9e par un QR code commencent \u00e0 chuter apr\u00e8s les 10 000 premiers destinataires, vous pouvez simplement reprogrammer le code pour accomplir une nouvelle t\u00e2che.
