{"id":106510,"date":"2018-10-30T23:53:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T04:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dacgroup.com\/adobe-digital-experience-makers-5-key-takeaways\/"},"modified":"2024-12-31T06:40:57","modified_gmt":"2024-12-31T11:40:57","slug":"adobe-digital-experience-makers-5-key-takeaways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dacgroup.com\/en-gb\/insights\/blog\/strategy\/adobe-digital-experience-makers-5-key-takeaways\/","title":{"rendered":"Adobe Digital Experience Makers: 5 Key Takeaways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Adobe&#8217;s Vancouver edition of the Digital Experience Makers event was a roaring success with more than 180 digital leaders from over 50 unique brands\u2014including Best Buy, Lululemon, MEC, and many more\u2014coming together at the TELUS Garden Tower.<\/p>\n<p>Right from the start, there was a positive, collaborative energy throughout the Tower as a diverse mix of executives, guests, TELUS staff, and organisers congregated inside and outside the building.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34579\" src=\"\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Adobe-Experience-Makers-Conference-at-TELUS-Garden-Tower.jpg\" alt=\"Adobe Experience Makers Conference at TELUS Garden Tower\" width=\"860\" height=\"430\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What followed was a series of fireside chats, panel sessions, and keynote presentations that engaged the audience on various topics ranging from digital transformation and CRM to building a brand and creating an integrated digital journey.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers included <strong>Thierry Hay-Sabourin<\/strong>, SVP, eCommerce &amp; IT at Best Buy; <strong>Natalie Farand<\/strong>, Head of Performance &amp; Analytics at WestJet; and <strong>Ryan Holmes<\/strong>, CEO of Hootsuite.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34571\" src=\"\/wpe-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Adobe-Digital-Experience-Makers-2018-Vancouver.jpg\" alt=\"Adobe Digital Experience Makers 2018 Vancouver\" width=\"860\" height=\"430\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With contributions from our own <a href=\"\/en-gb\/services\/analytics-and-marketing-science-services\/\">Business Intelligence<\/a> Manager, Kuhan Puvanesasingham, these are our five main takeaways from the Digital Experience Makers Event:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h2>&#8220;Digital Transformation&#8221; is a misnomer<\/h2>\n<p>Organisations need to stop thinking about big transformations but instead think of small, continuous improvement cycles. It&#8217;s about bite-sized changes that make the difference between digitally mature organisations and digitally young ones.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Speed is key<\/h2>\n<p>Branching off the idea of small, continuous improvement, we need to start thinking about faster processes in our work\u2014and embrace the idea of a &#8220;minimum viable process&#8221;. Before even thinking about that phrase, ask your clients if they\u2019ve mastered small data. Are they extracting as much as they can from small data? Many companies have trouble selecting the right tech stack and maximising the potential of these tools. Therein lies a good opportunity out West.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Embrace and experiment<\/h2>\n<p>Reducing approval processes around technology efforts (i.e. trying new tech) can really help things move the needle when it comes to progress and innovation.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h2>Businesses can have two kinds of competitors: product and experience<\/h2>\n<p>Brand &#8220;A&#8221; may have an inferior product than Brand &#8220;B&#8221; but offer a better online experience.
