Job Description

The Controller oversees all aspects of corporate accounting for DAC Group.  The Controller ensures that the accounting department meets the highest standards for quality timelines and control.

Position Accountabilities:

  1. Financial Results and Reporting
  • Monitor and analyse consolidated monthly operating results against budget and reforecast
  • Review, evaluate and update SVP on monthly financial results and progress of consolidated results and operating performance as well as ability to maintain desired performance results
  1. HR and Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations of the finance department
  • Responsible for assigning work, setting objectives and evaluating performance
  • Promote effective teamwork, feedback & guidance to direct & indirect finance reports for continuous learning and development
  1. Short- and Long-Term Planning
  • Coordinate company annual financial forecast and budget management functions
  •  Work with Senior Executive team and President’s to develop three-year strategic business plans for the Operating companies and consolidated plans to ensure appropriate resources are available to meet objectives
  1. Cash Management and Treasury
  • Manage treasury functions; Monitor ongoing liquidity position to ensure adequate short-term cash/financing requirements are met to operate the business

5. Controls and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local European country laws and any other regulatory requirements
  1. Credit and Collections
  • Providing guidance to the credit and collections team to ensure appropriate balance between mitigation of risk and business growth
  1. Financial Systems and Operational Efficiencies
  • Review and evaluate finance structure and systems to support operational and business needs efficiently and effectively to meet company strategies and objectives
  1. Business Analysis and Valuations
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and client compensation decisions
  • Assist in development of pricing models for new product & service offerings & diversification strategies
  1. Stewardship Function & Tax Planning/Administration
  • Assist in completion & coordination with legal advisors of necessary legal documents to support shareholder activity & purchasing transactions
  • Coordinate necessary calculations, support & documentation for equity-based management bonus and distribution where applicable
  1. Other
  • Complete/execute other special projects that may arise from time to time as requested by the SVP

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in Finance/Accounting
  • 2+ years of direct managerial/leadership experience
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of European best practices is strongly preferred
  • Post-secondary degree in Business specializing in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent field
  • Current Professional Accounting Designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA, CPA, etc) is preferred
  • Experience working with mid-size companies (100-300 staff) is preferred, but not essential
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in an environment of shifting priorities
  • Superior oral and business writing skills, and a proven track record of discretion in dealing with confidential matters
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining positive team spirit, and a collaborative, consultative working style
