Director, Digital Media London, UK

Responsibilities
  • Create and execute the Paid Search department vision with the singular goal of growing the depth, competence and size of the agency offering
  • Oversee all paid search campaigns according to DAC methodology and best practice Lead and manage a team of SEM Specialists at varied skill levels to ensure best practice planning and execution of agency programs
  • Foresee and identify issues as they relate to the SEM team and SEM accounts; develop contingency plans and formulate solutions to address any issues as necessary
  • Communicate on an on-going basis with SEM team members and conduct weekly status sessions to provide support where required
  • Work collaboratively with DAC team leads to oversee and improve internal processes in order to provide high-quality service for clients 
  • Develop growth plans for team members to not only ensure that knowledge, skills and abilities for each individual are utilized effectively for each account, but also to increase all around competence and develop strong career paths for team members
  • Confirm SEM best practices and DAC methodology are implemented for all SEM campaigns
  • Oversee all SEM accounts and identify ways to continuously improve campaign performance
  • Lead and inform the planning and strategy function for key SEM programs
  • Oversee management of SEM budgets, reconciling actual media spend with budgeted spend; ensure SEM Specialists are controlling budget on a day-to-day basis to minimize budget variances
  • Review and analyze SEM performance data, assist SEM team in providing actionable insights and recommendations to the Reporting & Analytics team for client-facing reports
  • Document and communicate any necessary changes to SEM processes and templates with SEM team 
  • Stay current on new and beta Search products; identify areas where these products would apply for testing and implementation
    Manage and maintain vendor relationships to maximize our ability to execute and innovate the agency offering
  • Communicate progress to plan and regular execution focused program updates to VP of Search
  • Attend and actively participate in client and new business meetings, acting as the SEM subject matter expert to contribute the SEM perspective
  • Develop SEM documents and presentations in a client-friendly format
  • Present SEM-related research, insights, campaign performance and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Handle escalations of client issues and communicate accordingly with office stakeholders
Requirements
  • Experience planning, buying and creating integrated digital media campaigns across UK, Europe and N. America
  • Managed media budgets of $20MM+
  • Managed teams of 4+ media resources, including media planners, buyers and ad ops/traffickers
  • Development of best practices between agency resources and internal client media resources
  • Ability to train and demonstrate knowledge of tactical expertise and best practices
  • Proven expertise creating custom strategies and approaches for clients’ business objectives
  • Minimum University degree in Business or college equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years advanced Paid Search/SEM campaign management experience
  • 3-5 years team leadership experience, ideally in an agency environment
  • Expert-level experience and knowledge in Google AdWords and Bing Ads platforms 
  • Exceptional SEM campaign planning and management skills
  • Google Analytics expertise in set-up and analysis is a must
  • Solid SEM testing methodologies
  • A growth mindset for expanding campaigns and opportunities within the client base
  • Eager to understand, test and implement new Search methodologies with a focus on improving service offerings
  • Strong familiarity with enterprise and e-commerce Paid Search campaigns, strategies and tactics
  • Comprehensive understanding of keyword research
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to demonstrate interpretation capabilities
  • Proven record of working on multiple time-sensitive projects on schedule
  • Google Adwords, Bing Ads and Google Analytics certifications strongly preferred
