There\u2019s been a lot of buzz leading up to the launch of Schema.org.\u00a0 The first thing that makes Schema.org a big deal is that it is agreed upon and standardized.\u00a0 The second thing that makes Schema.org a big deal is the essence of what it does.\u00a0 Schema.org provides a standard protocol to add more details to HTML pages, details that search engines can read.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s standard HTML markup code. The h1 tag, on line 1., is a style format, which stands for heading 1. This is the standard way web pages are written. The problem is that a search engine cannot identify what text is related to what \u2018attribute\u2019. Microdata is a set of tags, introduced with HTML5, that allows you to relate text with \u2018attributes\u2019, or \u2018item properties\u2019.<\/p>\n
